Onomatopoeia

Jeni's comment about chocolate cake on my last post made me think of this word. It's definition is "a word or a grouping of words that imitates the sound it is describing (like click, pow, zoom)."

Anyways, I think it is a really fun word to say and possibly my favorite if I had to choose one word in the catagory of FUN TO SAY.

My question to you is what is your favorite word or words to say AND what do you think is the most POWERFUL word in the English Language?

I've always loved the word Plethora and it makes me laugh because half the time I say it I jumble the letters and say it wrong!
My mom is a Word Woman that says words that half the time I have to stop her and say "WHAT????? break it down for me MOMS!"

Angie - I like that word too! Could you use it in a sentence for me?

Jen-I knew you'd stick to your fav.

I like the word ominous. "The weather's looking rather ominous." and,I like the word, aesthetic. "Her flower arrangement was aesthetically pleasing." Oh, and Landen's word! Ginormous. "That elephant was ginormous!" (it's really not a word.)

I like the word plethora too!

Just reading the word "inconceivable" makes me laugh . . . out loud, just like Becky said in only 3 letters.

Landen just used ginormous this very minute -

I want to practice using "asthetically pleasing"; it makes you sound like you really know what you are talking about.

Oh - what is the definition of serendipity? It's a good word but I'm never confident to use it.

A word I've heard a lot lately is sereal. That word reminds me of serendipity but deeper.

Angie B...My sister is like that, says big words and makes me feel very uneducated.
She was an English major and went to college to be a school teacher, so she is always correcting my double negatives. I like to use them on purpose to bug her.
I cannot think of my favorite word right now.
Tierra has a lot of words that bug her. one is, scalp. I know we are looking for fav's not least fav's. ha

inconceivable reminds me of Princess Bride. I'll have to think of a good word. Like Jeni, this might be a post to get back onto months later
