Breaking Dawn

Okay, Twilight Fans, tell me what you think!

Did you like the last book? Tell all in the comment section

Don't click on the comments unless you've read the book - or if you don't care to know what happens

I do want to say to those of you who have been discouraged by her last two books, you should give this one a try - she made up for them in the last section of this book. I'm happy.

I finished the book Monday afternoon. I was a challenge to keep with it a few times.

I'm a true, blue Edward fan, all the way so I loved that she just jumped into the wedding (I am curious about you Jacob lovers - did the fast wedding crush all your dreams)

I loved the honeymoon - but I wouldn't let my children under the age of unmarried read it (okay, maybe at the age of 18 - I don't know, I don't have any there yet).

I felt like I was reading ALIEN during the Jacob section. The whole baby thing made me feel like Stephenie was taking it a bit too far. If it wasn't for Jacob's sense of sarcastic humor and the chapter titles, I probably wouldn't have finished.

The last book "Bella" was great! I enjoyed it. I loved experiencing her vampire transition and how much more her and Edward loved one another. I loved the tension of the Volturi coming and wondering who was going to die. But most of all I loved the fact that it ended super happy, everyone was happy (except Tanya and her sister of course) and they all ended up friends, family, etc.

It may sound cheesy to want it all but I do and I liked reading about someone gets it all (even if she whined through two & a half books)

I think part of that opinion stems back to my Harry Potter reading and how devistated I was when Dumbledore died. I am so glad I didn't have to relive that. I get emotionally attached. And Edward, well, Tim's a happy man everytime I read Twilight.

PS - Tim is my Edward.

So glad you posted about this but I gotta admit that I'm surprised you liked it. I guess it's just because I loved Eclipse and you didn't. Ok here it goes...

I'm also glad she got the wedding over right away. I was sick of waiting for that. I've talked to some Jacob fans and they said they knew it was coming so it wasn't that heartbreaking.

I'm starting to feel like a bad mom here, help me Care! I will let Emma read the book when she's 16. I honestly didn't think it was that bad. 1- they were married 2- it didn't go into detail at all. She never actually explains the act right? You just assume what they're doing or what they did. I think Emma will know by the time she's 16 that s*! is part of the marriage plan here. Is it because I read the entire book within 24 hrs? Did I miss some stuff? Maybe I need to re-read. I monitor her tv watching very closely and didn't even let her watch dancing with the stars so I don't consider myself laid back, but people's comments are making me wonder if I'm crazy.
I've also known some moms who took their 9 yr olds to Mamma Mia and I would not even consider letting Emma watch it.

When I found out Bella was pregnant and the baby was eating her alive, I didn't like where it was going. I also felt like I was reading Alien Encounters. I had to force myself a little ways through the Jacob section to get over it. It was weird but also different and something I never would've come up with. I also LOVED Jacob's chapter headings. It didn't bother me that he imprinted on the baby for some reason. I just wanted him to get over Bella and I understood the history of imprinting and that it didn't make him a pedophile.

I was absolutely stressing out during the volturi confrontation. I also thought the Romanian vampires were spies. I kept waiting for them to turn on the good vamps. It never happened and I was glad I didn't have to read about vampires ripping each other apart and scorching. All the cracking and such in Eclipse made my skin tighten.

THANK YOU for loving the happy ending! I LOVED it as well. I'm so sick of tragic endings that leave me haunted about a book for weeks after I read it. 95% of my book club books are of oppressed women/people and end in sadness. I just don't see what's so unrealistic about a happy ending. I know my life hasn't been nor will it be perfect, but so far, it's lookin' pretty good and I'm anticipating a happy ending to my life. I'm not stupid enough to realize there won't be trials but as Lincoln said, "most people are about as happy as they make themselves to be."

Steven is mostly my Edward but also my Jacob in alot of ways. He treats me like Edward treats Bella but he has been my best friend since high school when we were really only friends so maybe that's why I love these books. I get both Edward & Jacob...lucky me!

Here's order of fave's - 1) Twilight, no question 2) Eclipse 3)Breaking Dawn 4) New Moon

Is this long enough for ya? Let me know about your reasons for not letting your kids read it til their 18 and please tell me if I'm out in left field. I appreciate honesty :)

I loved it. Every little thing I loved. I don't have time right now to go into all the analyzing of why I loved it...but I will say this...I loved the honeymoon, I loved Jacob's sarcasm, I loved the action. I loved that Charlie wasn't kept in the dark. I loved that Bella got to skip the "newborn" phase of being a vampire.
Twilight is still my #1...but Breaking Dawn is my #2.
I think she did a great job of wrapping everything up.
Ang..I agree...they were married. And, you get A LOT worse in some Judy Bloom. :)
